Goodyear to adjust truck tire production

Jan. 27, 2009
Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will hold one-week, partial shutdowns at its Topeka, Kan., plant in February and March.

The temporary shutdowns will affect medium truck tire production only, according to a Goodyear spokesperson.

Goodyear's Topeka factory can produce 5,500 medium truck tires per day at full capacity, according to Modern Tire Dealer's 2009 Facts Issue, which is available now.

The facility also can produce 1,100 light truck tires and 1,500 "other" tires, including OTR tires, each day at full throttle.

Shutdowns will start on Feb. 16 and March 16, say Goodyear officials.
