SEMA Show, Day Four: Yokohama shows off next-generation Avid, other tires

Nov. 3, 2006

Among the recently introduced tires at Yokohama Tire Corp.'s SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show is the Avid W4s, an extension of Yokohama's Avid H4s/V4s tires.

The W-rated Avid W4s will be available in 18 sizes when it comes on-line in March 2007, Andrew Briggs, a Yokohama spokesman, told moderntiredealer.com.

The tire will eventually be part of a new powerline with the Avid H4s/V4s, he says.

Yokohama also is displaying its new S.drive tire at the SEMA Show. The tire will come in V, W and Y speed ratings and will range in size from 15 to 20 inches when it becomes available in April or May 2007, explains Briggs. Sizes will include narrow tires and fitments for exceptionally small cars like the Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit.

Also at Yokohama's booth is the Geolandar ATS, which is available in at least 25 sizes right now. A full size line-up will be available during the first quarter of 2007.
