Pirelli promotes three from within

Oct. 24, 2006

Pirelli Tire North America Inc. (PTNA) recently named Steve Carpino, John Hagan and Andrew Kearton vice presidents of the company.

* Carpino helms the R&D and product development departments. He joined the former Armstrong Rubber Co. in 1983 as manager of process technology. When Pirelli purchased Armstrong in 1988, Carpino was named manager of the Car/Light Truck Design Group and eventually director of product engineering. In 2002, he was promoted to director of research and development.

* Hagan is in charge of the original equipment department. He joined Pirelli in 1989; he served as credit manager, financial analyst, customer service manager and Northeast territory manager before managing the Sears Tire Group. In 1998, he was appointed director of

OE sales; based out of Detroit, he was responsible for working with

the purchasing personnel and automotive engineers to develop OE fitments.

* Kearton is responsible for manufacturing. He joined Pirelli in 1984 and has spent his entire career in operations, including a five-year stint in Italy. He was responsible for the construction of Pirelli's state-of-the-art MIRS (Modular Integrated Robotized System) facility in Rome, Ga. Most recently, he was PTNA's director of manufacturing.

The company credits all three with being an instrumental part in Pirelli's significant growth over the last four years.
