Johann Finkelmeier has been named vice president and general manager of original equipment tires for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s North American Tire business unit.
He will report to Larry Mason, Goodyear North American Tire's president of consumer tires.
Finkelmeier, 53, has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. He most recently served at Akebono North America as executive vice president, global strategy & business development OE/OES sales. Prior to that he was president of ThyssenKrupp Steel North America.
Finkelmeier will maintain offices in Goodyear's corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio, and the company's OE office in Southfield, Mich.
Finkelmeier replaces Michael Parnell, who served as vice president, original equipment sales, for Goodyear North American Tire for the last two years. An announcement on Parnell's next assignment within Goodyear will be forthcoming.
