Stephens will take over for Iijima as treasurer of Bridgestone Americas

Makoto Iijima, treasurer of Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. (BSAH), will return to Japan at the end of November to accept a position in Bridgestone Corp.'s finance department. Succeeding Iijima as treasurer will be Eugene (Gene) Stephens, currently BSAH's assistant treasurer.

In his new position with Bridgestone Corp., Iijima will take on significant responsibilities in the area of domestic and global tax

matters.

Iijima, a 28-year Bridgestone veteran, has served as BSAH treasurer since 2003. He holds a Bachelors degree in economics from Hitotshubashi University.

Stephens, who will take over as treasurer effective Nov. 16, joined the former Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in 1979 as a college trainee. He has held his current position as assistant treasurer since 2000. He also has served as a corporate accountant, senior financial analyst and manager of treasury analysis and information.
