American Tire Distributors gives $90,000 to charity

American Tire Distributors Inc.'s 17th annual Charity Golf Benefit raised $90,000 for two deserving grassroots, non-profit organizations. Last year's event raised $70,000 for charity.

Chairman and CEO Dick Johnson singled out two worthy charities this year: Florence Crittenton Services of Charlotte, N.C., and Crisis Assistance Ministry.

There were four levels of sponsors for the event.

Platinum sponsors: Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC, China Manufacturers Alliance LLC, Continental Tire North America Inc., Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. and Michelin North America Inc.

Gold sponsors: Bank of America Business Capital, Craford Benefit Consultants, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Hewlett Packard, Pirelli Tire North America Inc. and Ryder Transportation Services.
