Here are a few more details about Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC's purchase of White Tire Distributors Inc., which was reported on www.moderntiredealer.com last Friday, Sept. 1 (Bridgestone/Firestone buys White Tire Distributors).
The Roanoke, Va.-based operation now does business as White Tire LLC, a newly created company within the Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire (BFNT) family. It will continue operating under the name White Tire.
"BFNT anticipates a seamless transition and plans no changes to
the operating structure or management of the corporation," says a spokesman for the parent company. "Customers will see the same high
level of service they have always experienced from White Tire."
White Tire was one of the country's largest independent commercial tire dealerships prior to its purchase, with six auto service centers, 11 commercial tire operations.
It also is the 26th largest retreader in the United States with six plants that have a combined daily output of 640 truck tire retreads and 20 light truck tire retreads, according to Modern Tire Dealer.
White Tire Distributors posted $60.5 million in overall sales during 2005.
