Pirelli gets down and 'Dirty' in Atlanta

Aug. 30, 2006

A record 12,000 people visited the second annual "Riding Dirty" Celebrity Car and Bike Show co-sponsored by Pirelli Tire North America Inc. The event was held at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta.

Pirelli, the tire sponsor of the show, put together a display in conjunction with Will Castro, star of Speed TV's "Unique Whips" and owner of custom car specialist Unique Autosport. Cars on display included the Aston Martin DB9 with 20-inch Pirelli P Zero Nero tires owned by Nicole Jones, wife of Atlanta Braves' centerfielder Andruw Jones.

A 1970 Chevrolet Caprice belonging to Cleveland Cavaliers' star Lebron James and the Rolling Stones Tour Mercedes Benz "R" class also were on display, both on 22-inch Pirelli Scorpion Zeros.

According to Peter Tyson, vice president communications for Pirelli, the large attendance at the "urban market" show "is testimony to the growing importance of this movement."
