Falken Tire Corp. will make price adjustments on selected Falken brand tires effective Oct. 1, 2006.

Prices for the following Falken lines and tread designs will be increased from 5% to 7%: Ziex ZE-512 (14- and 16-inch sizes), RT615, Radial A/P, Landair H/T and STZ04.

Darren Thomas, vice president of sales and marketing, says the increases were necessary "due to the continued escalation of raw material, petroleum-related material costs, and transportation costs."

Both Federal Tire Corp. (7%) and Yokohama Tire Corp. (up to 7%) also will raise consumer tire prices effective Oct. 1. Groupe Michelin will raise its original equipment passenger and light truck tire prices between 6% and 8% worldwide on the same day.

In late July, Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC announced it was raising prices on its Bridgestone, Firestone, Fuzion, Dayton, associate and private brand tire lines up to 4% effective Sept. 1.
