GPX hires chief information officer

GPX International Tire Corp. has hired Jean-Louis Marin as chief information officer. In this position, he will be responsible for the following:

* developing the substantial investment GPX has made in technology.

* improving the company's ability to link offices, distribution centers and factories around the world.

Marin is a 20-year information technology professional who has experience in the telecommunications, professional software development, forestry, pulp, paper, and mining and metals industries. He has worked for Tembec Inc., Algoma Steel Inc. and Corel Corp.

"His strength in building systems and processes while keeping the end customer in mind is a valuable asset," says Bob Sherkin, chairman and co-CEO. "This level of expertise will strengthen our market position in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia."

GPX was formed last year when Galaxy Tire & Wheel merged with Dynamic Tire Corp.
