Bridgestone Corp.'s European subsidiary, Bridgestone Europe, will build a plant in Poland to produce truck and bus tires.
Construction will start during the first half of 2007, "with production expected to get underway in the first half of 2009," say Bridgestone officials.
Production capacity will be around 5,000 units per day.
The facility will be Bridgestone's second truck and bus tire plant in Europe. The company has another one in Spain.
"Securing another truck and bus tire production site will enhance the company's degree of self-sufficiency in the region and contribute to the creation of a strategic supply system."
