Groupe Michelin will build a tread rubber plant in Mexico to help meet growing demand for its Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. products.
The $40 million plant will be located next to Michelin Mexico headquarters and passenger tire plant in Queretaro.
It is expected to start production of tread for the North American market in spring 2007.
"Demand for Michelin retreads in North America is exploding," says Luc Minguet, chief operating officer of Michelin Americas Truck Tires.
