GITI Tire Group receives honor from General Motors

GITI Tire (China) Investment Co. Ltd. was recently honored as a 2005 Supplier of the Year by General Motors Corp.

The award was given during ceremonies at GM's Vehicle Engineering Center at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Mich.

"We consider GITI Tire Group to be a role model for all suppliers," said Bo Andersson, vice president of GM's global purchasing and supply chain. "They are recognized as a GM Supplier of the Year because they exceeded our expectations in 2005."

Dr. Enki Tan, GITI Tire Group's executive director, proudly received the award on behalf of the company. He expressed sincere thanks to GM for giving the company the opportunity to supply its tires for use on GM vehicles.

The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics. They base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price.

General Motors honored 85 suppliers for their outstanding performance throughout 2005.
