ContiCrossContact LX receives magazine honors

April 4, 2006

Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has been honored by Germany's Auto Bild magazine.

The ContiCrossContact LX received the magazine's highest rating, "exemplary," among eight 4x4 summer tires and three all-season tires tested by Auto Bild, the largest automotive magazine in Europe.

The magazine tested the ContiCrossContact LX and its competitors in size 235/65R17 in off-road, wet and dry road conditions at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds in Uvalde, Texas. The test vehicles were the Mercedes M-class and the Nissan Frontier.

Auto Bild's evaluation concluded that the ContiCrossContact LX provided exceptionally balanced handling with steering precision on dry asphalt, low rolling resistance, and extraordinary hydroplaning resistance.

The ContiCrossContact LX features a 65,000-mile limited tread wear warranty and is available in 14 sizes from 15 through 18 inches. They are T-, H- and V-rated, depending on the size.
