Kumho sponsors Petit Le Mans sweepstakes

March 19, 2006

Consumers will have a chance to win an all expenses paid trip to the 2007 Petit Le Mans, thanks to the Kumho Petit Le Mans Xperience Sweepstakes.

The sweepstakes runs through Oct. 31, 2006, and is being promoted by nearly 4,000 Kumho retailers across the United States. Consumers also can sign up at ALMS (American Le Mans) races and on the Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. Web site (www.kumhotireusa.com).

The grand prize is a trip for two to the 2007 Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. Airfare, accommodations at the luxurious Chateau Elan Winery and Resort, and VIP tickets to the 10-hour, 1000-mile race are included.

In addition to the grand prize, 10 first place winners will receive a set of four Kumho Ecsta SPT ultra-high performance tires. One hundred second place winners will receive an MP3 player, and 1,000 third place winners will receive a KUMHO travel bag.

"Last year was our first year of ALMS competition, and we enjoyed good success on the track and good exposure in front of fans and on television," says Mike Leverington, Kumho's marketing director.

"We've committed to the series as a participant and a sponsor for at least two more years, and now we want to get our dealers involved in the series. We brought some dealers to ALMS races last year, and they were thrilled with what they saw."

ALMS President Scott Atherton is understandably pleased with the sweepstakes.

"Kumho is a benchmark example corporate partner for activating its series involvement away from the racetrack," he says. "Last year, Kumho helped promote the series by running an ad in USA Today that celebrated its historic class win in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring."
