March 17, 2006

Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) is sponsoring the Scion Release Invitational golf tournament, which will be held March 20-21 at the TPC course in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The celebrity golf event features a mix of auto industry executives and pop culture personalities, including host Jeremy Piven, Mos Def, Tony Hawk, Nick Cannon and Zoe Saldana. It will serve as the launch of the Scions Release clothing line and benefits the Boys & Girls Club of America.

Representatives from both Yokohama and its parent company, Yokohama Rubber Co. (YRC) will attend the Scion celebrity golf event. Representing YTC will be CEO and President Norio Karashima and Executive Vice-President Jim MacMaster.

According to Jeff Carpenter, Yokohama Tire Corp., manager of OE sales and marketing, the two-day event is a great opportunity for Yokohama to support Scion, a valued business client.

With many OE tire fitments and the development of some tires for Scion concepts vehicles, Yokohama has established a solid working relationship with Scion, he added.
