Wheel restoration added to Coker Tire's service specialties

March 3, 2006

Coker Tire Co. is now offering rim restoration services for original wire wheels.

"Collectors who want to maintain the stylish look of classic wire wheels can now have their vehicle's original wires restored to showroom condition," says Corky Coker, president of Coker Tire. "Through our new process, most any original wire wheel in any rim diameter can be restored to its former radiance."

The rim restoration service includes stripping the wheel's original finish, restoring and preparing the wheel to accept new chrome plating, paint or powder coating.

Coker handles all aspects of the wheel restoration process, including sand or media blasting of the hubs and rims. New spokes and nipples are used to restore each rim in high tensile strength steel or stainless steel.

New rims can be supplied in practically any rim diameter or width, the company says.

The restoration work is typically performed within a six to eight week timeframe and each wheel is trued and balanced.
