Two Congressional representatives, one from New York and the other from California, are asking their colleagues to co-sponsor The Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act.
Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.) and Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.) say the Right to Repair Act, if passed, will benefit minority service garage owners and operators.
The act "puts automakers on notice that we expect a fair marketplace and competition to help motoring consumers and assure a fair playing field for independent and minority repair shops," states a letter sent out by Towns and Sanchez.
Currently, the Right to Repair Act has 88 co-sponsors.
