Kumho Tire U.S.A. has named Steven Drake director of operations for its new OE sales office, which will open February 20 in the Detroit suburb of Troy.
Drake has 19 years of experience in engineering and product development of replacement and original equipment tires. He most recently was with Continental Tire North America’s OE Business Unit, where he was account manager for GM accounts. He also served as a senior development engineer with Continental, and previously was a tire development engineer and product evaluation engineer with Goodyear-Dunlop Tire NA in Huntsville, Ala.
"We’re extremely fortunate to get someone with Steve’s credentials to run our OE operation," says Guy Edington, manager of the Kumho Technical Center in Akron, Ohio. "His experience as a tire engineer and an OE account manager will be invaluable as Kumho pursues OE business in the U.S."
