For the second consecutive year, the top 10 most popular domestic replacement passenger and light truck tire sizes represented less of their respective markets than they did the previous year, according to Modern Tire Dealer's 2006 Facts Issue.
The top 10 passenger tire sizes accounted for 39.1% of the replacement market. That compares to 40.3% in 2004. The top selling replacement size was P225/60R16; P235/75R15, the top selling size for the previous 10 years, dropped to second.
The top 10 LT tire sizes represented 81.7% of the replacement market. That compares to 82.7% in 2004. The top selling replacement LT size was LT265/75R16, followed by LT245/75R16 and LT235/85R16.
