Continental AG reshuffles executive board

Continental AG reports as of April 1, 2008, CFO Dr. Alan Hippe, 41, will take over the reins of the PLT Tire division from Manfred Wennemer, 60.

Dr. Hippe will continue as CFO until a successor is appointed.

Wennemer continues as executive board chairman in addition to being responsible for the Interior division.

As of Sept. 30, 2008, Dr. Hippe will additionally take charge of the ContiTech division, succeeding Gerhard Lerch, 64, who will retire at that time and relinquish his seat on the board.

The company reports there will be no change in the responsibilities of the other members of the executive board: Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann, 46, for the Chassis & Safety and Powertrain divisions; Dr. Hans-Joachim Nikolin, 51, for the Commercial Vehicle division; and Heinz-Gerhard Wente, 56, for human resources and in his capacity as director of labor relations at Continental AG. Bill Kozyra, 50, deputy member of the executive board, will remain responsible for the NAFTA region.
