Mac Tools offers heavy-duty impact wrench

Oct. 30, 2012

Mac Tools has introduced a ¾-inch impact wrench for the truck and heavy industrial repair markets, the AWP075.

The AWP075 represents the newest member of the company’s growing AWP Titanium Series. It was engineered to provide the muscle, durability and efficiency needed in high-torque applications.

Tested and approved by professional technicians, the 8.4-pound impact wrench offers the highest power-to-weight ratio in the marketplace thanks to its low weight and 1,560 feet per pound breakaway torque, the company says. To achieve a low weight in a durable package, the AWP075 features titanium components in the clutch housing, reverse lever and exhaust deflector, as well as an innovative motor construction that requires fewer parts. In addition, a side fed air motor provides an unobstructed path for airflow, which results in more power during application. A feathered throttle offers maximum operator control over the power output.

“Power is a prerequisite in the truck repair market, particularly with impact wrenches,” says Jeff Connell, Mac Tools product manager, power tools. “With an industry leading power-to-weight ratio, the AWP075 can complete any job, whether it’s engine tear downs, changing tires or general truck repair. It’s a tool technicians will reach for when they traditionally grab a one-inch impact wrench.”

The AWP075 features a handle forward design that offers optimum ergonomics and reduces operator fatigue.

Other developments include a soft rubber grip that delivers comfort during prolonged use, and a one-hand power adjustment and forward/reverse system that provides technicians a free hand to hold fasteners and complete jobs with ease. The AWP075 also includes a rubber bumper that offers anti-marring protection, an integrated muffler that reduces noise, and a 360-degree rotation air inlet that provides technicians ease-of-movement while operating the tool.
