Renezeder hits the jackpot in Vegas!

Sept. 26, 2012

Team GT member Carl Renezeder is arguably one of the most revered drivers in short course racing.  And at last weekend’s Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, he hit the century mark in the win column adding to his long list of racing achievements.  It was a moment that had been years in the making through thousands of hours of hard work and the kind of determination, tenacity and dedication it takes to make champions.

“To see Carl win his 100th career short course race was something special,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing for General Tire.  “And to do it on General tires…that was a proud moment.  I’ve known Carl for a long time and I know the level of work he puts not only into his racing, but into every aspect of his life.  He’s a champion in every sense of the word and everyone at General Tire is proud to call him a member of our team.  We congratulate Carl and his entire team on win number 100!”

In his first race of the weekend Renezeder, in true championship form, put on a class as he led the field around the challenging course in his No. 1 Lucas Oil/General Tire Nissan under the neon lights of Vegas.  As the checkered flag dropped and Renezeder crossed the line in first for the 100th time, the reality of the moment still hadn’t sunk in for the California-native.

“It really didn’t’ hit me until I had won the next race in the Pro 2,” said Renezeder.  “It was then that I could relax and celebrate and not have to focus on another race.”

One might say that Renezeder’s 100th win in Las Vegas was a full circle moment for him.  It was in 1999, 13 years earlier, that Renezeder logged his first short course win in the Pro 2 class in the CORR Series…in Las Vegas.  For Renezeder, it’s a milestone that he’ll always remember.

“I am very proud of my team,” Renezeder commented following his Pro 4 win.  “I am also proud that all of my races were won with my red, white and blue Lucas Oil Pro 2 and Pro 4.  The support I have from my sponsors like Lucas Oil, General Tire and Nissan has made this possible.”
