Steve Burhenn of Becker Tire & Treading Inc. in Great Bend, Kan., is the new president of the Mid-America Tire Dealers Association.

Burhenn replaced David McMannis of Canton Service Center in Canton, Kan., who completed his term.

Mid-America members also voted on a new slate of directors at its annual membership meeting, held in Wichita, Kan., recently. In addition to Burhenn and McMannis, each of the following directors will serve two years on the board:

* Connie Hay, Hey Machinery, Baldwin City, Kan.;

* Roger Howland, Country Tire Inc., Blair, Neb.;

* Rob Pickrell, Royal Tire Co., Salina, Kan.; and

* Phil Thompson, Thompson's OK Tire, Beloit, Kan.

At the meeting, Burhenn described the association's financial position as "strong," with $94,441.48 in assets. Under McMannis, the association increased its membership to more than 170 people.

The Mid-America Tire Dealers Association was formed in 1990.
