Online registration for the 2013 TIA OTR Conference in February is open. The openings for the golf tournament are almost closed.
First the conference. To register, click here, or visit the “Events” section of the TIA (Tire Industry Association) website, www.tireindustry.org.
The conference will take place Feb. 20–23, 2013, at the Gran Melia Golf Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
Now for the golfing news. Tournament spots for the conference are almost gone. Spots are limited, and unlike past years, there is no golf course available to handle overflow registrations.
Persons interested in reserving a golf tournament spot are strongly encouraged to register for the conference in order to make their golf reservations immediately, according to TIA. The tournament will take place on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at the renowned Trump International Golf Club in Coco Beach.
Juan Antonio “Chi-Chi” Rodríguez, the first Puerto Rican inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, will spend time with the golfers during the tournament, He also.will be the keynote speaker at Thursday's General Session.
“It’s amazing at how fast registrations are already coming in for the 2013 TIA OTR Conference," says TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield. "At this rate, people need to know that if they are interested in attending and participating in all of the events -- especially the golf tournament -- they need to register now, as there may not be any room for them at later dates.”
Rooms at the Gran Melia Golf Resort are also being reserved at a fast pace. The room rate is $199 per night; reservations can be made online or by calling (800) 336-3542. If calling for reservations, attendees must mention “Tire Industry Association/OTR Conference” in order to get the conference room rate.
Attendees also can save 5% on airfare by making reservations at www.aa.com/group and entering PROMO CODE 9123AZ in the Promo Code/ Tour Code box. The discount is only applicable to new reservations and is valid for February 15–25, 2013.
