CIMS’ Seal goes to 85 Certified Providers

Sept. 19, 2012

CIMS Inc. has named the first recipients of the Tire Registration Seal of Certification that acknowledges the nation’s companies who are in compliance with tire registration regulations.

“We are extremely pleased to officially recognize the first of those safety-focused companies that have tire buyers’ interests in mind as they lead the tire registration process,” says Susan Kruder, president of CIMS. “We intend to recognize more companies who meet the criteria on an annual basis.”

Criteria for the CIMS Tire Registration Seal of Certification includes recognizing companies that are in compliance with existing tire registration regulations, and maintain accurate and up-to-date data on those tires.

The recognition is named in memory of the late Paul J. Kruder, CIMS’ founder, who spent more than half a century in the tire industry and was instrumental in establishing the tire registration standards that are in place today.

CIMS says it has provided products and services to tire manufacturers, private brand owners, tire dealers and auto dealerships for more than 40 years to facilitate the entire tire registration process – a federal mandate enforced by the National Highway Traffic System Administration, NHTSA.

The inaugural 85 recipients include: Advanced Auto Service & Tire, Phoenix, Ariz.; American Tire & Auto, Greenbrook, N.J.; Archibalds & Sons Inc., Tremonton, Utah; Auto Pros, Eugene, Ore.; A-Z Tire, Amarillo, Texas; Ben’s Tire, Orange, Texas; Black’s Tire, Whiteville, N.C.; Bob Brown Tire, Portland, Ore.; Brody’s ACCC, Sandy, Utah; Cabool Tire, Cabool, Mo.; Carmerica, Sellersburg, Ind.; Cerritos Dodge, Cerritos, Calif.; Certified Tire & Service Centers, Riverside, Calif.; and Conrad's Tire Service, Inc., Cleveland, Ohio.
