Solid waste management giant Allied Waste Industries Inc. has named Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC (BFNT) and Bridgestone Bandag LLC preferred suppliers. "Under the agreement, BFNT supplies Allied’s commercial and OTR tire needs, while Bandag provides Allied with retreading services," say BFNT officials.
Both BFNT and Bandag will offer tire management services as well, say BFNT officials.
Allied Waste is the second largest non-hazardous solid waste management company in the U.S. and serves 10 million residential, commercial and industrial customers.
The company operates a fleet of 12,500 collection vehicles, including residential loaders, transfer station vehicles and landfill machinery throughout 37 states, plus Puerto Rico.
