OTR TPMS has low-frequency activation

Sept. 5, 2012

Doran Manufacturing has enhanced its Doran 360CE tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for OTR tires with low-frequency activation.

This new valve-stem-mounted tire pressure sensor allows fleets to receive digital tire pressure and temperature data using Doran’s handheld SmartLink tool. With this new feature, the SmartLink tool can be used to transmit a low-frequency signal that will activate the tire pressure sensor and transmit the current data back to the SmartLink tool for viewing.

The company says this enhancement provides a simple, fast and accurate method to obtain tire pressure and temperature readings during tire checks without having to climb into the cab of the vehicle to view the pressures on the monitor. It is ideal for off-road tires such as those on loaders, scrapers, haul trucks, excavators, and more.

“This enhancement is another example of listening and responding to our customers’ requests,” says Jim Samocki, Doran’s general manager. “We were asked to provide a solution for obtaining tire pressure data during tire checks without having to use the monitor mounted in the cab.”
