Raybestos Brakes help Denny Hamlin to third season victory

Aug. 28, 2012

After battling Jimmie Johnson for the lead during the final run… Denny Hamlin reached the checkered flag first… achieving his third win of the season at Saturday's IRWIN Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. This marks Hamlin’s 20th Cup victory.

Confirming the short-track superiority of Raybestos Racing brake pads… the top five finishing Cup teams at Bristol, and the top two finishing Nationwide teams at Bristol all ran Raybestos Racing product. Joe Gibbs Racing has won five of the last eight races at Bristol… and 14 of the last 22 on short tracks… all under the stopping power of Raybestos Racing brakes.

“On demanding short tracks like Bristol, Raybestos brakes deliver amazingly consistent performance,” said Darian Grubb, Crew Chief of Busch's No. 11 Fed Ex Office Toyota. “We know when it's a short track race, Denny can drive hard... brake even harder... and still capture the win.” The Bristol race earns the JGR team its fifth win for the season and its 98th Cup victory over all.

The JGR team secured another important victory at Friday night's Food City 250 Nationwide Series race. Joey Logano won his sixth race of 2012 on the Nationwide circuit running Raybestos Racing rotors.

The Raybestos Short Track racing brake package, used by NASCAR teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, combines ample stopping power with a considerable weight savings advantage on tracks like Bristol Motor Speedway’s .533-mile oval track.
