Why tire prices may be going up soon

Aug. 23, 2012

Tire prices appear to be in a state of flux -- even more so than usual.

Because supply has been greater than demand, some tire manufacturers have reduced their prices, which is great news for tire dealers. Those who haven't are at least offering promotions that will help get customers into your stores.

Ahh, but "things" can change quickly. The price per barrel of crude oil went up on Aug. 23. And rubber prices may be ready to skyrocket.

To find out what in the world -- literally -- is going on with tire pricnig, check out Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich's latest blog, "Tire pricing is down, but it may be going up soon."

What have you been experiencing? The lowering of tire prices? The raising of tire prices? More promotions? Or perhaps everything is status quo.

Whatever is happening, please share it with us by leaving a comment after reading the B.O.B. blog!
