Titan will double its giant OTR tire capacity

Feb. 22, 2008

Six thousand units isn't enough for Titan International Inc. The company plans to produce as many as 15,000 giant OTR tires per year, more than double its original projections.

Titan Chairman and CEO Morry Taylor made the announcement earlier today at the Tire Industry Association's annual Off-the-Road Tire Conference in Hawaii.

This past May, Titan announced an expansion project at its Bryan, Ohio, OTR tire plant that would allow capacity for 6,000 57- and 63-inch OTR tires per year.

Taylor also announced that Titan plans to add 28 farm tire curing presses, ranging in press size from 85 inches to 100 inches. The presses should be in place by August 2008.
