TBC Corp. is recalling 72,938 Mirada Cross Tour SLX and Big O Big Foot S/T tires, sizes 235/70R16 and 265/70R17, manufactured from January 2009 through January 2011 (weeks 0409 through 0411).
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Office of Defects Investigation (ODI), these tires possess a manufacturing anomaly which may result in a crack or separation in the lower sidewall.
"If left in service, the crack/separation could grow and rapid air loss may occur, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash."
TBC says it will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires free of charge. Free mounting and balancing also will be included, as applicable.
