Journalist Mary Aichlmayr dies at 37

Mary Aichlmayr, former managing editor of "Tire Review," died unexpectedly last weekend. The Braceville, Ohio, resident was 37.

She graduated summa cum laude ("with highest honors") from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She joined Penton Media Inc. as an associate editor before moving on to October Research Corp.

Aichlmayr was managing editor at Babcox Publications LLC's "Tire Review" magazine from December 2003 to August 2007. Her duties also included managing "Fleet Equipment."

She left to re-join Penton Media Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio, as editor-in-chief of "Material Handling Management" magazine. Most recently, she was marketing manager at Comprehensive Logistics Inc.

Aichlmayr was the loving daughter of Rita (nee Hoeschen) and Ronald Aichlmayr; dear sister of Hans and Lisa Hockensmith (Daniel); and dear niece of Patricia Perkins, JoAnne Bucklin and Gary Aichlmayr.

Friends may call at Vodrazka Funeral Home, 6505 Brecksville Rd., Independence, OH 44131 for memorial gatherings on Friday, June 8, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, June 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Church on Brecksville Rd. at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
