Company says inkjet printer colors sidewalls

April 9, 2012

LAC Corp. of Japan is looking for distributors for its Color Tire Printer in North America. LAC is a leading developer and manufacturer of unique electronic and data processing equipment. The company, founded in 1983, has focused recently on the niche market of digital printing.

The LAC Tire Printer (pictured) is an inkjet color printer with six nozzles to inkjet a tire’s sidewall. The printer comes complete with software to run the system. The machine paints the tire’s sidewall while it is still attached to the wheel, according to the company. Y. Nosaki, international sales representative for LAC, says the colors will last over three years without any additional coating.

The company says there are no limitations to the type of tire profile that is to be painted. Nosaki says the company is in the process of applying for U.S. and other countries’ patents for the equipment.

Interested parties can view a video of the machine at http://laccorp.com or fill out a questionnaire at http://www.laccorp.com/tire_questionnaire.htm.
