For the first time, Pirelli will be OE on the Viper

April 4, 2012

Pirelli Tire North America Inc. has teamed up with Chrysler Group LLC on the 2013 SRT Viper and Viper GTS.

At the 2012 New York International Auto Show on April 4, Chrysler SRT Group Vice President Ralph Gillies unveiled the long-awaited Viper and Viper GTS models fitted with Pirelli P Zero and P Zero Corsa tires, respectively. The connection with Viper is a first for Pirelli.

“Pirelli is all about premium performance," says Paolo Ferrari, Pirelli NAFTA region chairman and CEO. "Combining the Viper brand’s power and agility with Pirelli’s reference UHP fitments -- the P Zero and P Zero Corsa -- we have upped the ante in Viper performance and added yet another premium fitment to our OEM family.”

Pirelli is supplying two P Zero OE sizes to the Viper models: 295/30ZR18 (front) and 355/30ZR19 (rear). Customers opting for the SRT Viper GTS Track package will be treated to P Zero Corsa in the same sizes.

The 2013 SRT Viper and SRT Viper GTS feature 8.4-liter, 10-cylinder 640 bhp engines
