Aeolus trailer tire meets SmartWay criteria

March 8, 2012

Alliance Tire Americas’ Aeolus HN808 premium line haul trailer tire has been verified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to meet the agency’s SmartWay Transport Partnership criteria.

The SmartWay Partnership is a collaboration between EPA, the trucking industry and the railroads to reduce fuel consumption and exhaust emissions from freight operations. Through SmartWay, EPA established extremely strict criteria for tires’ rolling resistance.

Only tires that pass rigorous testing can be certified with a SmartWay logo. Alliance says the Aeolus HN808 was approved under a new, more stringent set of guidelines enacted last September.

“Verification through the SmartWay partnership is another step in Aeolus’ commitment to providing U.S. truckers with tires that help them become more efficient, more profitable and more environmentally sustainable,” says John Hull, Alliance Tire Americas’ national truck tire sales manager. “It’s a perfect complement to the new Aeolus Green Tire initiative.”

Hull says the Aeolus HN808 was already widely respected for its consistent footprint and excellent traction on wet or dry pavement.

“Verification under the SmartWay partnership highlights the fact that the HN808 delivers environmental sustainability as well as economic sustainability.”

The Aeolus HN808 is available in sizes 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 285/75R24.5 and 295/75R22.5. For more information visit www.aeolustireusa.com.
