Raybestos brakes help Roush Fenway Reach “300” at the “500”
Matt Kenseth earned Roush Fenway Racing and Raybestos brakes the team’s first season win at the Daytona 500... becoming the first team in history to win 300 NASCAR races.
Rain delays couldn’t stop Kenseth. A ball of fire couldn’t stop him. Wild driving during the closing laps couldn’t stop him. The only thing stopping Matt Kenseth was the braking power of the Raybestos Superspeedway Racing brakes package. Kenseth and his teammate Greg Biffle (who finished third) combined to lead 83 of 200 laps in the race, with Kenseth taking the lead during the last 38 laps and holding that position until his green-white checkered finish.
“The Raybestos brakes were there for Matt when he needed them most,” said Jimmy Fennig, long-time Roush Fenway Racing employee and crew chief for Kenseth’s No. 17 Best Buy Ford Fusion. “They helped him maintain control and avoid all the big wrecks during the 500.”
The Raybestos Superspeedway Racing brake package, used by NASCAR teams like Roush Fenway Racing, combines ample stopping power with a considerable weight savings advantage on tracks like Daytona’s 2.5-Mile Tri-Oval. The Raybestos Racing caliper package is one of the strongest and lightest in all of NASCAR. The Raybestos Racing two-piece rotor is engineered to withstand high-heat torture, and they also deliver the effective lightweight operation required for qualifying and superspeedway runs.
