Interest 'overflows' for TIA OTR conference

Jan. 13, 2012

There are already more than 400 people from 13 countries registered for the Tire Industry Association’s (TIA) 2012 Off-the-Road (OTR) Tire Conference, which will be held Feb. 15-18 at the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

This year’s event will feature well-known speakers from the OTR tire and wheel manufacturing, retreading and repair industries, including Morry Taylor, Titan International Inc., and Angie Jones, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC. A motivational speech also will be presented by former college football coach Jack Lengyel (see "And the OTR Tire Conference headliners are...").

The conference includes panel discussions, social events and tabletop displays from more than 40 manufacturers and suppliers, TIA notes.

A second hotel has been added (the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa) and an overflow golf course has been chosen to accommodate all those wishing to participate in the yearly golf tournament. Attendees on the waiting list and late registrants will now have the option to play the Gary Player Signature Course at the Westin Mission Hills North.

“Once the waiting list for the Classic Club reached a certain point, we decided to act on our option of adding a second course to the golf tournament,” says Kevin Rohlwing, TIA senior vice president of training. “The Gary Player Signature Course was the best option after the Classic Club and the gap between the two was so small that we felt we could maintain the levels of golf and service that our attendees expect. TIA will provide shuttle service to the Gary Player Signature Course since it is off property, like the Classic Club, and the winning teams will be awarded prizes for both courses.”

The fee for the OTR Golf Tournament at the Gary Player Signature Course remains the same at $175 and includes the box lunch sponsored by Tech International as well as the beverage carts sponsored by Titan International, Inc. TIA will also provide shuttle service to the Classic Club for happy hour after the Tournament.

Registration is still open and those interested in attending or playing golf should contact LaKisha Pindell at (800) 876-8372, ext. 104, or [email protected].
