Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. will plant 500,00 trees at 18 of its facilities over the next 10 years.
Sites include Yokohama's Hiratsuka, Japan, plant, six other Japanese facilities and 11 overseas facilities, including its Salem, Va., factory.
"The tree planting is part of Yokohama's 'Forever Forest,' a long-term project being carried out as part of the (the company's)environmental preservation activities," say Yokohama officials.
