Pirelli Recalls 1,190 P Zero All Season Tires

Dec. 5, 2016

Pirelli Tire LLC is recalling 1,190 P Zero All Season tires that were built with an incorrect carcass component.

Pirelli says the problem was caused by a production error, and the tires may show surface cracking in the lower sidewall of the tire as it reaches the end of its tread lift. The tires, in size 275/40R19 101W, were produced between Feb. 29, 2016, and Oct. 29, 2016. The tires were designed as original equipment fitments for certain Maserati cars.

The tire identification number is WB Y2 U352 0916-4316.

Pirelli says it discovered the problem while performing control plan testing on tires from the 43rd production week, and one tire didn’t meet its internal testing specifications. Pirelli is working with Maserati SpA to identify and notify affected owners, and the tire company will replace the tires free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin in December 2016. Owners may contact Pirelli customer service at 1-706-368-5800. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
