Linglong Americas Inc. is recalling 2,830 Venezia Crusade HT tires that were produced in 2015.
The recall comes after a third party tester reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the lower sidewall separated during endurance testing.
Because the subject tires, in size LT265/75R16 Load Range E with DOT codes 2715 through 5215 haven’t been produced since December 2015, in January 2020 Linglong reproduced several exemplar tires for additional tests. Linglong says those newly produced test tires passed the required endurance and high speed testing.
On June 17 Linglong met with NHTSA’s Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance, and NHTSA permitted Linglong to do a visual inspection on July 24 of the tire that was subject to the third party’s test: 1907753, LT265/75R16 LRE Venezia Crusade HT, DOT YCLF LLTR 4115.
Linglong opted to recall all of the subject tires in the subject population and replace them with comparable tires.
Linglong will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin August 24, 2020. Owners may contact Linglong customer service at 1-330-239-0404. Linglong's number for this recall is YCLF.
