Burt Brothers Celebrates the Birthday of Its Oldest Employee

Aug. 13, 2020

Keith Kammerman has been a U.S. Marine, bookkeeper, cattle rancher and volunteer fireman. And, he spent 20 years working for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. He retired, but quickly grew bored and decided to go back to work — at Burt Brothers Tire and Service Inc.

That was 19 years ago. Kammerman is now 78, and Burt Brothers' oldest employee. And the tire dealer is celebrating Kammerman's commitment and work ethic for his birthday.

Kammerman shows up at 5 a.m. every morning for work, and that's just one indicator of his work ethic, says Jeremy Burt, one of the dealership's owners.  “Age has not slowed Keith down. He continues to be known for his energy and dedication.  He’s a model team member.  As long as he wants to work, there will be a place for him at Burt Brothers.”

Burt says Kammerman personifies the qualities it wants to show its customers and community.

“We pride ourselves in our low turnover rate and connection to the communities that we serve. Keith is the face of that at our stores.  In his two decades of services, customers and fellow employees have come to appreciate his familiar smile, his expertise, and the fact that he can always be counted on.”

He's had several jobs in his time at Burt Brothers, including store manager, bookkeeper and inventory manager. He balances his work with family time, which he spends with Donna, his wife of 53 years, and his nine children, 23 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Burt Brothers has 12 stores in Utah and is based in Bountiful, Utah. The company was founded by Ron and Wendel Burt in 1991, and now is led by the second generation of Burt brothers and cousins.
