Jack Williams Tire has acquired a retail store in Scranton, Pa., from McCarthy Tire Service.

Jack Williams Tire Co. has acquired a retail location in Scranton, Pa., previously owned and operated by McCarthy Tire Service Co. Inc.

The addition of the store at 119 Linden St. gives Jack Williams two locations in downtown Scranton, and 37 retail stores overall in northeastern and central Pennsylvania.

“We are pleased to expand our coverage in the Scranton area and continue serving the customers of the former McCarthy Tire retail location,” says Bill Williams, chairman of Jack Williams Tire. “It was our honor to complete this transaction with McCarthy Tire as both of our companies and families are committed to serving our customers, communities and associates.”

The store has been freshly updated and remodeled, and gives Jack Williams Tire three locations in Lackawanna County.

Additionally, the company has more plans for growth in the near future. Jack Williams Tire says it will open two more retail locations “over the next few months.”

Combined with the acquired store in Scranton, “the three new locations will continue the company’s constant growth over the years in which they are looking to accelerate for the foreseeable future.”

Bill Williams says,”We are always looking to expand in our existing markets and grow into new ones. We are very flexible with our growth strategy, from single to multi-location independents looking to sell, or just a great piece of land that becomes available, we are always looking and ready to make a deal.”

In addition to its retail operations, Jack Williams Tire serves more than 5,000 tire dealers through its 13 JWT Wholesale business, with warehouses that serve Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. JWT Equipment Specialists focuses on equipment installation, sales and repairs.

The company also operates two aftermarket specialty shops under the brand Auto Addictions, and a mobile tire service called Jack Mobile Tire.
