Tate Boys has sold its seven locations to GB Auto Service. Tate Boys was Oklahoma's second-largest tire dealer.

GB Auto Service Inc. has acquired Tate Boys Tire & Service, a seven-store operation in northeast Oklahoma. The deal expands the presence of GB Auto Service into five states.

The 32-year-old Tate Boys dealership has two locations in Bartlesville, as well as stores in Broken Arrow, Catoosa, Owasso, Skiatook, and South Tulsa.

“For more than 30 years, Tate Boys Tire & Service has built a powerful brand known for professionalism and community service,” says GB Auto Service CEO Frank Kneller. “Within Northeast Oklahoma, they have established a culture that emphasizes unconditional commitment to exceptional customer service. This aligns perfectly with the uncompromising standards we set at GB Auto.”

Tate Boys President Craig Tate says, “Our team is really looking forward to combining forces with the GB Auto family. The accomplishments we’ve achieved over more than three decades of success will surely add tremendous value to the GB Auto portfolio.”

Adding Tate Boys Tire & Service follows the July 1 acquisition of 32 stores from Sun Devil Auto Service.

As of the 2020 edition of the MTD 100, GB Auto Service had 133 locations and was tied for the No. 8 spot on the list of the largest independent tire dealers in the U.S.
