El Paso, Texas-based Border Tire LLC has acquired the Southern California-based Canyon Tire Sales, a 40-year-old, $45 million commercial tire dealership that has five locations and one Michelin retread plant.
“It has always been our goal to grow and make strategic acquisitions that expand our service footprint to our loyal customer base” says David Shipp, vice president of Border Tire.
“The synergy of the two companies coming together will greatly enhance our full service capabilities."
With the acquisition, Shipp says Border Tire will become the largest servicing Michelin retreader in the state of California.
Border Tire currently has more than a dozen locations throughout California, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico. The company significantly expanded its footprint in 2018 with the acquisition of five Tire Centers LLC outlets from Michelin North America Inc.
