Continental AG has named Thomas Falke the leader of its commercial specialty tires segment.
Falke's appointment comes as part of some internal reorganization of management of its overall specialty tires business unit. The whole unit is led by Wolfgang Thomale. He also heads up Continental's two-wheel tires segment within the speciality unit.
Falke led the two-wheel tires division for seven years, and Continental says he was successful in building up and expanding the business with motorcycle and bicycle tires.
"As an expert in growth in the specialty tire segment, he is now to expand the business with tires for highly specialized industrial, port, construction and agricultural machinery," the company said.
Continental's umbrella of specialty tires includes not just the commercial applications and two-wheel business, but also the company's racing tires, including Hoosier Tire.
