Black's Tire Golf Event Raises More Than $200,000

March 23, 2021

Black's Tire Service Inc. hosted its 21st benefit golf tournament on March 19 and raised $201,021 for the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina. Since its inception, the annual event has raised more than $1.5 million for the homes.

Ricky Creech, president of the Boys and Girls Homes, said Black's Tire is the organization's "largest corporate partner." The business, led by the Benton family, "whose passion for and commitment to the children and youth we serve is nothing short of love in action."

The Black's Tire team spends the full year planning for the event, and then dedicates all of the proceeds. The Boys and Girls Homes provides both residential and community-based services to help children with their physical, emotional, social, educational and spiritual development.

“We are so proud of our Black’s Tire families, vendor partners and customers," said Blacks Tire owner Ricky Benton. “2020 was tough in a lot of ways and really affected fundraising needed for the homes. As a non-profit they depend on donations. We are blessed to be able to put something like this together.

"Thanks to all the BTS Tire & Wheel partner dealers, vendors and friends. You help us make a difference in these children’s lives. Today we had over 220 golfers and many business joined in to help us.

"Our team also works hard all year long to raise additional funds. For more info or how to join in and help please contact Amy at 910-642-4123.   It all starts over this week with our new fundraising efforts.  The work is never done as these children and situations need our support," Benton said. "Thanks again and God bless everyone that had a part in giving back."
