A new feature for certain models of the Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra (2019-2021 1500 & 2020-2021 HD) is an option to monitor the tire pressure of the trailer wheels on the truck's dashboard. Alligator-brand Sens.it RS universal TPMS sensors can be used on those trailer wheel positions.
Alligator sensors are part of Wegmann automotive USA Inc.
Wegmann says trucks with the trailer TPMS option come with additional sensors for four trailer wheels (though it can also work with six-wheel trailers.) Additionally, the trucks can accommodate up to five different trailers. Users can use the Silverado Trailer / Sierra Trailer option on the sens.it application or the same vehicle menu on the hand-held TPMS tool to program sensors for the trailer.
Once the additional sensors are installed into the trailer wheels and the wheels are mounted onto the trailer, users can follow the learn procedure outlined in the owners manual.
