Denso Products and Services Americas Inc. has created a new vehicle inspection tool, VehicleMRI. The web-based application will be available in 2017, and the company says it reflects its "increasing involvement in vehicle diagnostics."
The company unveiled the product at the 2016 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX).
Developed by Ease Diagnostics, a Denso affiliate company, VehicleMRI is a tool for inspecting and analyzing automotive electronic systems and pinpointing hidden problems -- problems that have yet to trigger an engine light.
Denso says VehicleMRI outperforms conventional Onboard Diagnostics II (OBD2) scanners by running a comprehensive check of all systems, checking for out-of-date system software, testing the vehicle’s battery, evaluating hundreds of key data points in minutes, and generating a complete report that can be viewed online and saved as a downloadable file.
The easy-to-use program is web based making it convenient to access the vehicle’s history from almost anywhere, and it requires minimal training for the technicians who use it.
