Yokohama Tire Corp. has launched a new, all-position waste haul tire, the 506U. Now available in size 315/80R22.5, the tire replaces the Yokohama MY627W Spec-2.
Features include a wider tread pattern specifically designed for waste haul applications, which incorporates a wide outside rib for enhanced tear resistance; rock shield platforms throughout the center grooves to reduce stone penetration and optimize casing life; an extra-thick sidewall to protect against curb and pothole damage; a new, advanced tread compound that resists scrubbing, cutting and chipping; and more.
According to Yokohama officials, the 506U "is highly retreadable. Its durable construction assures maximum retreadability and it also carries an industry-leading, six-year unlimited retread casing warranty."
“The 506U delivers longer tread life, added durability and reduced operating costs for urban sanitation trucks and on/off-highway operations,” says Tom Clauer, Yokohama’s senior manager of commercial product planning.
“It’s specially designed for severe service vehicle operations that require a high load-carrying capacity per tire.”
